Indian culture is such a complicated thing. It takes a lifetime to learn about the culture, and the best method is not only to live it, but study it as well, in order to have as much knowledge about the culture too. Because it is considered to be the oldest living civilization in the world, it is really difficult to know all the nuances of India. From its food to its many religions, India has remained a bastion of tradition.
But this is how India gifts the world – with its culture. India has jumped the third wave recently, and modern technologies have invaded India with its consent, but the culture has not in any sense, been eroded. If ever, the entry of influences outside of India have served only to enrich it, and a sign of this is the phenomenon of Ballywood, similar to Hollywood for all intents and purposes, but still distinctly and uniquely Indian in form, taste and aesthetics.
Even the Internet India has safely used without much effect to its culture and way of life. Outsourcing to India is almost synonymous to outsourcing, and yet few cultural influences have changed the way Indians live their lives. There is a current movement to give each Indian child a tablet that costs around USD 35, but as to how the introduction of a tablet can affect the culture remains to be seen. In fact, the reverse might just as well be true – that it is Indian culture that influences the world.
